Pop was pretty bland in 1962. Folk was for your parents, country was even worse than it is now, and the Motown factory had all the urban talent locked down. But the times were a changin’; we got debut recordings from Dylan, The Beatles, The Beach Boys and Stevie Wonder, Benjamin Britten completed his War Requiem, and there was jazz music all over the charts.
